Case of the Blahs!

I am REALLLLY lusting of these two pairs of Stella McCartney shoes! I LOOOOOOVE those neon pink pumps! Everytime I see them in Intermix, I just drool, and rub them. They are so pretty. However, they are made from neoprene which basically means dirt will cling to them like magnets. Which also means they are definitely NOT made for wear in the big city, but, hey, a girl can dream!


So I have totally been in a funk all day long! Sometimes I let myself get super stressed out over things at work when there is NO need to get so worked up. Anyways, it makes for a really crappy day when I am so anxious and I hate it when I let myself get like that! My co-worker suprised me this afternoon with the treat below! It was so sweet and thoughtful and brought me out of my funky mood. He even got my favorite EVER Pinkberry topping--fruity pebbles. =) Just completely made my day. I am so lucky to work with the wonderful bunch of people that I work with, I don't say it enough! Also, tomorrow is a VERY special day--my lovely Mother's 60th Birthday! I am planning on a special post so please check back tomorrow!

What I Wore Yesterday

H&M Blazer, American Apparel tee, Lofli jeans, Calvin Klein booties. I am really in love with these booties-I have worn them almost everyday since I got them for Christmas. They are so easy to wear and go with any outfit.

wow. it's been 7 days....

since I last posted anything! Sorry, I have been so busy at work that I just keep forgetting about this. When I get home, I just want to crash. But I WILL do better! Anyways, I have been meaning to post pictures of this name ring that I got for Christmas. I just love it so much, I love really unique jewelry. When people ask me where I got it, I say "Santa brought it". For some reason, people always think I am referring to Mr. Q when I say Santa, but Santa is actually of course my lovely Mother!

the bleached jeans

So here's the result of the DIY jean bleaching project. I'm wearing them today, and so far they've been a big hit at the office! To create, all I did was take straight Clorox and splatter it on the jeans in my desired pattern--the color came out in about 30 seconds. Then I promptly put them in the washing machine and ta-da! Today, I am wearing them with the amazing thrifted jacket I spoke about yesterday! I got this jacket for $3.50 and I just adore the detailing on it! Below is a close up pic of the jacket. And another picture of the bleached jeans with a different jacket that has more dramatic shoulders--and I look completely terrified in the picture. All of my facial expressions in these pictures are a little goofy--it was early.

the inspiration

I have been dying to bleach my jeans. But with the lack of a washer/dryer in NYC, it was quite impossible. While I was home though, I finally got to do it and I am so excited with the way they turned out. Inspired by the above Balmain runways images, I bleached some black skinny jeans and also scored an amazing 80s band/military-ish blazer to go with them! I will post pictures of the outfit tomorrow. Mr. Q says calls the jeans my cow pants--maybe they do look like a cow, but I still adore them.
